Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®

Standard Pacific Homes was a proud sponsor of the 2006 Charlotte Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure®.  Forty-five employees, family members, and friends formed a team and joined in the annual walk, run, and race events held on October 7th.  Over 12,000 people participated in Charlotte's 10th Annual Komen Race for the Cure®, raising almost one million dollars.

The Komen Race for the Cure® & Series is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world.  The Komen Foundation is fighting to eliminate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants and treatment projects as well as supporting education and preventive screening in communities around the world.  Standard Pacific is committed to enhancing the value of our community through partnerships with organizations that are dedicated to making a difference.

The Charlotte division of Standard Pacific Homes was proud to participate in the 2006 Habitat for Humanity Home Builders Blitz.  Home Builders Blitz is a partnership between Habitat affiliates nationwide and the building industry to build over 400 homes across the country.  The challenge is to complete the building of a home in five days; Standard Pacific Homes along with our dedicated vendors built a house for the Williams family in just four days!

The Standard Pacific Homes Charlotte division is pleased to partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® during the 2006 holiday season.  The Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.  The average cost of a wish is approximately $6,000.  This year our employees and vendors have set a goal of granting one wish for a child.
